A graduate of Texas Tech University, Barbara was a member of the Lady Raider Golf Team. Following graduation, she worked in the criminal justice field before returning to New Mexico State University, where she completed the Professional Golf Management Program with honors.
Barbara has been a Class A PGA Professional since 2003 and previously served as a PGA Teaching Professional at Golf Headquarters in Lubbock. Her experience spans both golf instruction and golf operations, having taught at a variety of public and private facilities. She also spent seven seasons at Harborside International in Chicago, host site of the 2002 SBC Senior Open.
Barbara believes that every individual learns differently, and she incorporates that philosophy into her teaching approach. Utilizing tools such as V1 video analysis, TrackMan, and SC4 Pro, she tailors instruction to fit all learning styles—visual, auditory, and kinesthetic. Her goal is simple: make the game easy to understand, fun to play, and rewarding to learn.
Barbara has also contributed to programs such as Learn to Golf, PGA Sports Academy, Wounded Warrior Program, and PGA Coach, which is based on the American Development Model (ADM)—a framework focused on long-term athlete development and promoting healthy, active lifestyles.
